News :7/10/08 :Mike Vallely and his fuel T.V  Show "Drive" Visits Lake of the Woods Skate Park
Today the local skaters of the Lake of the Woods Community were the fortunate next contestants of Mike Vallely's Show "Drive"where Mike mostly visits
obscure skate parks and neighborhoods that contain a small skate scene. There he skates and hangs out  with the local skaters just like anyone else would
.Of course eventually autographs and pictures are requested. For the skaters at the Lake of the Woods Skatepark this was a treat. With the park opening at
the end of last year, nobody would have ever expected to get a visit from a pro such as Mike Vallely and to have them film his show here as well.
There is something to say when  a Pro Skater comes and skates with local skaters and the R.E. Skate Team at a park in Locust Grove where many opposing
residents didn't see the need for a skate park or  skateboarding in the lake at all.Check out photos below.

5/6/08:The Lake of the Woods Skate Park received a new addition to there skate course. It is called the Port-a-Park made by Mojo Rails. It is made up of two wedge ramps  and grind box with a a grind rail attached. The three peices can be moved and reconfigured and even used individually.A great addition to the park to help  spark some creative skating.

5/3/08: "The Lake of the Woods Skate Park Grand Opening" was held on May 3rd 2008 from 1:00 to 3:00.On this day everybody skated for free. There was a live band(Dilemma Uncovered) and music. There was free food and drink and some contest where prizes were given out.R.E. Skate team and Fred Skates were skating with the crowd.
